I've just been turned on to Trucks and looking for some suggestions for listening pleasure. Really digging it.

Please feel free to post long lists!

Thanks

Zimmer

Here's some old school Trucks for you. JimmY Herring plays the whole show and its so sick. Listen to the Mr. Pc and the ghetto.
Also the Georgia Theatre Recordings are very nice.

Just a snippet here, of Derek doing what he does best, Although not the Derek Trucks Band I think you'll dig the company.

Absolutely, The thing is is that Clapton wears it on his sleeve , so to speak. But Derek hardly betrays any of the emotion that's driving his sound. So Zen like, don't get me wrong I mean I'm a Townshend fan for crying out loud. But to have the youth, the tone, that something that makes great guitarist GREAT! Dudes got it , that's all I'm trying to say. Thanx to the individual who wanted to share, Dig.

Many of you are probably familiar with these two little treasures, but if you are not, these are a couple of amazing, incredibly jazzed out Derek Trucks performances from his tour of Europe in 2005. You can download these gems in minutes, DONT WAIT, DO IT! Check out My Favorite Things on this pre-FM from Amsterdam. Is that Kofi Burbridge or Thelonius Monk on keys? Fucking unreal!

You are all probably more familiar with the Berlin show. Afro Blue is a percolating cauldron of Jazz/Blues fusion and the Sahib Teri Bandi/Maki Madni medley is mindblowing!

Thanks for the suggestions Cliff. I first heard him with ABB and was just blown away. Started listening to D Trucks Band and just amazed at not just his playing, but the entire ensemble. Looking forward to these.

Hey Zimmer,

Here are a couple more. DTB was in a really jazzy groove during the Europe tour in 2005. Here is anther nice FM recording, plenty of amazing Derek jazz fusion...

And another crystal clear FM from '07 Jazzfest in Frankfurt. A really nice Sahib Teri Bandi and an extended My Favorite things jam...

Cliff,
Thanks for pointing out these killer DTB shows. I really like the jazzy direction they're in during these late 2005 shows. Great stuff.

Oh, I forgot about these. I actually prefer Derek with the ABB to the DTB. These two amazing jams are part of a live album called "One Way Out" Live at the Beacon from '03. I highly recommend it! Check Dereks hands...

Yes, definitely more entertaining than anything from post 74 by the Grateful Dead Cliff, you fat little hobbit. The mighty Derek Trucks band!
Hey, I live in the NYC area, can you give me free tickets too, the next time they come around? I promise to be your friend for the night Dennis.
